Tiki Bar Accessories

How many of us just love the idea of setting up a pub in our very own homes? A lot, I would bet. Why go out all the time when you can have just as much fun in the comfort of your place? But what kind of pub is the most fun to create? What will you and your guests love spending time in? There are many ways you can go with this, but one of the most fun is a Polynesian paradise. And with just a few, simple tiki bar accessories it could very easily be yours.

I used to love going out to bars and clubs every weekend to party. But as I got a little older, got married, and settled down a bit I not only had to slow that down, but I realized that I wanted to slow it down. The good old days with my friends were great and everything, but who wants to drink in a bar full of twenty-two year olds after a while, you know? This didn't mean that I wanted ot stop living, of course. I think everyone needs some way to unwind after a long week of work. It just meant that I had to find a different way to unwind. A more adult way.

So, I decided to build my own, little paradise in a spare room of my home. All I would need is a dream and some tiki bar accessories. I considered the basement for a while, but then I thought that being underground didn't really appeal to me, so I moved the operation into a spare room of the house. Not that there's anything really wrong with going for a basement. Some of the best clubs are small underground places, so why not your own private one? But personally, I just wanted something with a little more light, a window to look out of, and a lot of space for the tiki bar accessories.

I'll admit that it was a hard sell to my wife. She had other ideas about that spare room, but I did manage to convince her that it would be a fun thing to try out. After that, all I had to deal with was a little bit of eye rolling when I started buying all the tiki bar accessories that I would need. But this I can live with. I got everything from a tiny statue of a Hawaiian idol to hang at the end of the cord for the ceiling fan to a neon sign. That sign was a necessity. I think guys have a gene that leaves us predisposed to liking glowing, flashing things. I bought tons of other things too. To be honest, most any tiki bar accessories that I came across looked really great.

And once I got the place set up the way I wanted it, my wife even started to enjoy it herself. I knew she would come around eventually! There's a television and some comfy stools there too, so her friends like hanging out in there as much as mine do. It's a very popular room now. It was a little work for me to get everything exactly as I wanted it, but it was so worth the trouble. I can have just as much fun staying home with friends as I ever did going out now. And looking for all those tiki bar accessories to put the finishing touches on the place was actually kind of fun.

I absolutely hear you. I feel the same way. I’m presently creating my own Tiki Bar and Grill at one end of the patio. Yeah. I mean, it’s a case of who cares what anyone thinks about it, it is what I want and will get a kick out of. Added to which, you know, it IS fun. My wife supports the idea in theory but what she doesn’t know, yet, is the sheer genius of the finished product will astound her. Chicks, you know? Looking for the accessories is cool. I’m Australian, by the way. I think all Australians have a touch of the bower bird in them (a native bird that decorates its nest to attract a mate. Not that I need to do that, yunnerstan.)
